[Taipei Xinyi District Songshan Italian Restaurant Recommendation / Oridream]
On hectic weekdays, meeting a few close friends on the weekend often has us choosing an Italian restaurant. Their fair prices and broadly appealing flavors, plus the laid-back atmosphere ideal for deep chats, make them a go-to. Today, near Taipei’s beloved Songshan area—where many eateries brim with creativity—we’re at Oridream. In addition to their wildly creative century egg pizza merging East and West, there’s also the jaw-dropping visual spectacle of the Volcano Brioche. It's 100% eye-catching.

▲Oridream is located in Taipei’s Xinyi District
On Zhongxiao East Road, Section 4, Lane 553, right next to the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. It’s a 10-minute walk or less from Taipei City Hall MRT Station.

▲The interior of Oridream has a super relaxed vibe
There are two main motifs in the store: deer and volcanoes—coinciding perfectly with their signature Volcano Brioche. It also symbolizes gathering energy before a stunning breakthrough.

▲Oridream’s dining area spans two floors
Most tables are square, perfect for friendly gatherings—ideal for couples or larger groups.

▲ There’s also this exclusive private room in the basement
It’s the top choice if you want a dedicated dining space with family or friends.

▲ Here’s a sample menu for your reference
Oridream mainly serves Italian cuisine, with pasta and pizza around NT$200—very reasonable for Taipei. They also offer burgers, appetizers, drinks, and more.View the full menu here

▲ First up, the appetizer: spicy cod roe crispy fries
The fries are topped with cute character cards—pretty amusing.

▲ Their fries are on the thicker side
They’ve got a crispy outer layer, while the inside bursts with fluffy mashed potato. The texture is richly layered. Topped with special seasonings, they have a unique aroma—even without dip, they’re delicious on their own.

▲ But the soul of these fries is the cod roe sauce
Their cod roe sauce is made with real ingredients, packed with fish eggs. The saltiness is just right—you won’t get tired of it, and it’s so tasty you’ll wonder if it’s sold separately.

▲ Next comes the main course: pasta
First, my pick: the flaming chicken—a new dish. Just from the name, you can tell it’s spicy.

▲ Honestly, Oridream doesn’t just have creative dish names
The plating is also very thoughtfully designed. The presentation is striking as soon as it’s served, and the portion of pasta is generous—even for someone like me.

▲ If you usually enjoy pasta
you’ll likely care a lot about the texture, as getting it right is tricky—just seconds can make it too soft or too hard. Their noodles are perfectly cooked, and the sauce is flavorful. The spice level is noticeable—definitely not to be missed if you love heat.

▲ The chicken is made with boneless chicken thigh
The chicken was impressive—crispy and flavorful on the outside, bursting with aroma when chewed, while the inside was tender, juicy, and soft.

▲My friend ordered their signature spaghetti, a must-try dish here.
The Cream Cheese Tomato Egg Pasta is served with raw egg yolk and cheese, making for a rather unique flavor.

▲Before enjoying this pasta,
you first crack the raw egg yolk and mix it with the sauce and cheese to enhance the richness of the aroma and make the texture much smoother.

▲The pasta is handmade flat noodles, which absorb the sauce better.
The butter sauce at Ouweiju has a distinctive feature—it’s rich and flavorful but not greasy, offering a very refreshing taste. The flat noodles, compared to regular round noodles, have a bit more chew and are very satisfying to bite into.

▲While enjoying the meal, I suddenly felt something was missing.
That’s when our drinks arrived. The beverages at Ouweiju are quite unique and exclusive for an Italian restaurant. At first glance, they even resemble cocktails. These two are Noble Lady Bubble Bath & Mango Cucumber Sparkling Green Tea.

▲The Noble Lady Bubble Bath is a sparkling drink topped with a milk foam layer.
It was my first time trying a combination of milk foam and a sparkling drink. I thought it might be strange, but the flavors actually blended very smoothly. It was also filled with the scent of rose and milk, leaving a lasting impression.

▲As for the cucumber, I was a bit puzzled at first just from the name.
It turns out the green slices on top are cucumber. The mango sparkling drink has a summery tropical vibe, and paired with cucumber, it’s refreshing and thirst-quenching.

▲At an Italian restaurant, besides pasta,
you definitely can’t miss the freshly baked PIZZA Up here. This Teriyaki Bonito Skin and Century Egg Pizza is a unique creation of theirs, blending Eastern and Western elements with plenty of creativity.

▲The pizza crust is made of two layers with some cheese in between.
With the sweet and salty flavors of teriyaki sauce and mayonnaise, combined with the aroma of century egg and bonito, this pizza has a very rich layered taste.

▲Honestly, we didn’t expect the portion sizes at Ouweiju to be so generous.
After the previous dishes, we were already starting to run low on energy, but when the dessert was served, it instantly brightened our eyes—the Strawberry Kiss Brioche Volcano arrived steaming and smoking, making quite an impact.

▲This dessert is entirely centered around strawberries.
Fresh strawberries, strawberry ice cream, and fresh strawberry sauce—my friend who loves strawberries, who had thought they couldn’t eat any more, suddenly perked up again.

▲The server placed the strawberry ice cream on top of the volcano.
Then they cut the volcano open, and there was an unexpected surprise inside. The outer layer of the volcano is brioche bread, and inside there’s black sugar mochi (?) that bursts with flavor. Whether paired with strawberries or custard sauce, it tastes amazing no matter how you eat it, putting a perfect ending to the meal.
