Happy Farm DIY: Pick and Plant Fresh Produce – Experience Being a "Farmer for a Day" for Just NT$650

Following the great success of the "Farmer for a Day Fun Experience," launched in the first half of the year with guidance from the Kaohsiung City Government Agriculture Bureau and organized by rural communities, another 14 rural tour sessions will be held starting July. The activities begin this weekend on the 13th, offering experiences such as picking fresh mangoes, DIY making of red turtle cakes, climbing coconut trees, learning traditional crafts, and enjoying a day on the Happy Farm, with each person paying NT$650.

In collaboration with rural communities and fruit farmers, the Kaohsiung City Government Agriculture Bureau launched the "Farmer for a Day Fun Experience" earlier this year, offering activities such as fruit picking in jujube orchards, earthen stove cooking, and ginger planting. The 404 available slots were fully booked in less than three days, attracting enthusiastic participants from northern and central Taiwan.

Riding on the wave of enthusiasm, the agriculture bureau has planned another series of rural tourism activities for the second half of the year, based on local agricultural seasonal produce.The first event coming up this weekend on the 13th and 14th is the"Forest Bathing and Mango Picking in Liugui – A Relaxed Getaway," which includes a DIY mango-picking experience in a mango orchard, on-site guidance on how to ripen mangoes, and a local specialty lunch. The tour also includes stops at Xinyi Forest Park and the Tientai Mountain Monastery of Yi Guan Dao, giving visitors a taste of rural life.。

Additionally, there are bamboo shoot picking experiences, DIY making of red turtle cakes, climbing coconut trees, learning traditional crafts, and Happy Farm experiences (picking and planting vegetables), among other rich rural activities. All sessions are booked online, allowing participants to freely choose their preferred "Farmer for a Day" experience.
