Foreign tourists visiting Taiwan still love "night markets" the most ! According to the 2012 Report on the Consumption and Travel Trends of International Visitors to Taiwan published by the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, night markets remain the top must-visit attraction for foreign tourists for the 10th consecutive year, followed by "Taipei 101" and the "National Palace Museum". As for the most beloved Taiwanese attraction, "Jiufen" took the top spot.

The survey report indicates that the most visited attractions by international tourists in Taiwan are "night markets" (visited by 78 out of every 100 people), followed by "Taipei 101" (62 out of every 100 people), the "National Palace Museum" (53 out of every 100 people), the "Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall" (39 out of every 100 people), and "Sun Moon Lake" (37 out of every 100 people). The top five attractions remain the same as in the 2011 survey. However, "Taroko · Tianxiang", which ranked 8th in the previous survey, has dropped out of the top 10 this time, while "Kenting National Park" has made it into the top 10.

Among the popular attractions visited by international tourists in Taiwan, "Jiufen" is the most liked (with a preference rate of 33.04%), followed by "Taroko · Tianxiang", "Sun Moon Lake", "Alishan", and "Yehliu". Meanwhile, "Taipei 101", which ranked 10th in 2011, dropped out of the top 10 in this (2012) survey.
