Ride a banshee in 3D at Avatar Land in Disney World – an exclusive sneak peek inside Pandora – The World of Avatar

Disney’s Pandora – The World of Avatar, built with a $500 million investment, will open on May 27th. This globally anticipated new land offers not only thrilling rides but also lets visitors immerse themselves in the movie’s alien world. Beyond its classic fairytale charm, Disney World now adds a high-tech, immersive experience to its repertoire.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail,Pandora – The World of Avatar spans 12 acres within Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida. Designed based on scenes from the movie, guests can ride a banshee via 3D simulators. Designers have also revealed that some characters from the film will appear throughout the land—not just as scenery, but actively moving around—offering visitors the core experience: stepping into the movie and exploring the planet of Pandora.

On Pandora, visitors can also see surreal, lifelike plants. Built within the existing 20-year-old Animal Kingdom, the park’s rich ecosystem provides a perfect backdrop for the new land. During the Na’vi River Journey, guests can drift through an indoor river surrounded by glowing flora and fauna, accompanied by tribal drumbeats and choral harmonies, creating an otherworldly atmosphere.

Disney is also testing a new dining system. Before entering Pandora, guests can download the My Disney Experience app to pre-order lunch. When it’s time to eat, they simply confirm their order at the restaurant, alerting chefs to start preparing the meal. Within minutes, guests can pick up their food—an incredibly convenient process.

Besides Pandora, another movie-inspired land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, is also set to open in 2019 in both Florida and California—something to look forward to.
