Taiwan’s first ice cream tourism factory, “Ivette Ice Cream Dream Factory,” opened on the 20th, offering an 80% discount across the store until the 21st. During the opening period, customers who donate five receipts can enjoy free ice cream. The business has launched special flavor ice creams such as Tieguanyin and Sanxing scallion, and visitors can also learn about ice cream production through factory tours and DIY experiences.

“Ivette” is the first ice cream tourism factory established under the guidance of New Taipei City Government’s Economic Development Bureau. Huang Qingyuan, the second-generation successor, said that the Ivette brand was founded in 1999. At its peak, “earning half a year could support the whole year,” but in recent years, with the entry of major international brands, the market has gradually shifted toward premiumization and higher pricing. Therefore, to compete with large companies, Taiwan’s ice cream industry must incorporate educational, experiential, and entertainment elements. That’s why the Ice Cream Dream Factory was planned.

Huang Qingyuan said that the Ice Cream Dream Factory allows consumers to do more than just eat ice cream through various experiences such as tours and DIY making.
They can also develop an interest in ice cream production, and further understand ice cream culture and knowledge. The establishment of the dream factory also provides a unique leisure space for visitors of all ages.

The founder, Huang Xiancheng, worked for an American ice cream company in his early years and experienced how the smooth and delicate texture of ice cream differs from that of hard popsicles. Coupled with its imported image, American-style ice cream swept across Taiwan. Later, he founded Shuijing Enterprise, which focused on ice cream contract manufacturing, producing many well-known domestic ice cream brands.
