Soak in hot springs at Guguan and enjoy fresh fruits in Lishan—savor a relaxing time

To promote eco-tourism in Guguan and Lishan, the Shei-Pa National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications hosted the “2013 Guguan & Lishan Tourism Season – Summer Journey. A Wild Duet” during the summer vacation. The event was divided into two parts: “The Symphony of Hot Springs – A Forest Bathing Journey in Guguan” and “The Concerto of the Starry Sky – Stargazing and Fruit Tasting in Lishan.” Visitors could soak in hot springs in Guguan, enjoy fresh fruits in Lishan, and gaze at the starry night sky, all while indulging in a relaxing experience. Additionally, participants had the chance to win great prizes such as high-end bicycles, premium hotel stay vouchers, and hot spring coupons.

The first event, “The Symphony of Hot Springs – A Forest Bathing Journey in Guguan,” officially kicked off on the 27th, featuring local agricultural product exhibitions, street performers, and performances by indigenous dance troupes. The second event, “The Concerto of the Starry Sky – Stargazing and Fruit Tasting in Lishan” on August 16th, included an outdoor movie screening of director Liang Xiushen’s film “Double Trouble” in front of Lishan Hotel that evening, along with performances by street artists and the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet.

To help visitors better understand the natural ecology of Guguan and Lishan, nature guides were arranged to explain the area’s unique ecological landscapes. Star-gazing experts were also specially invited to lead participants into the universe of stars, helping them locate the Big Dipper, North Star, Altair, and Vega, and observe the movement of summer constellations. All participants received raffle tickets, and by collecting stamps, they could enter the draw for a chance to win great prizes such as high-end bicycles, premium hotel stay vouchers, and hot spring coupons.

The Shei-Pa National Scenic Area Administration stated that in recent years, tourism trends have become more diverse. To keep the events fresh, travel plans are themed according to the season, including Christmas parties, New Year’s flag-raising ceremonies, hot spring promotion events, tourism seasons, Guguan hot spring feasts, and New Year’s Eve parties. Through strategic event marketing, the administration aims to rebrand the travel experience.
