The Jimmy Liao craze sweeps across Taiwan, and the national airline has also launched the Jimmy Liao "Hug Machine," generating strong public response. In response to the Hug Machine trend, the airline is holding the "HUG & WISH China Airlines Gives You Free Tickets to Travel Abroad" like-and-win campaign, giving away 30 free tickets worth NT$2 million. The event is taking place on the China Airlines Travel Channel fan page on Facebook and is now in its final countdown stage. Netizens are pulling out all the stops to rally votes, hoping to win a round-the-world ticket package.

From tech-savvy housewives over 50 to toddlers just learning to walk, people of all ages have joined the race to "grab free tickets." One middle-aged mom, refusing to be outdone by the younger generation, held up a handmade sign expressing her dream of traveling the world. Many netizens were deeply moved and left comments cheering her on.

To align with the event’s "hug" theme, participants have come up with all sorts of creative ways to hug—beyond the usual hugs for parents, kids, lovers, and other family and friends, some have taken to the streets to hug foreigners and strangers, emphasizing that hugging knows no borders. Others have hugged their daily coworkers, such as nurses in uniform calling out "I love my job!" and cheering on all medical workers. Some have hugged orangutans, dreaming of finding their home in the rainforest. Others have embraced stuffed toys, hoping for a loving cuddle with dolls from around the world, or even hugged Winnie the Pooh, wishing to go on a date with the global icon.

On June 7, China Airlines launched its first Taiwanese cultural creative-themed Jimmy Liao Hug Painted Aircraft and simultaneously introduced this like-and-win free ticket campaign. The first round-the-world ticket package, valued at up to NT$200,000, has already been given away. The campaign runs until the end of July, and there’s still a chance to participate. Just upload a "hug"-themed photo before the campaign deadline at 12 PM on July 31, and rally the most likes to stand a chance of winning the second round-the-world ticket package and 29 other major prizes.
