Launch My Fantastic Planet – A DIY Hand-Painted Experience at the Ceramics Museum

Everyone has their own fantastic planet. What color is yours? The Yingge Ceramics Museum in New Taipei City has launched a “My Fantastic Planet – DIY Painting” experience course, where you can hand-paint your very own little planet. Once you attach an LED light, you can activate your own fantastic planet. The activity runs from now until August 15th, with a registration fee of NT$150. You can sign up online or register in person at the counter 30 minutes before the session.

The “My Fantastic Planet – DIY Painting” course is a special summer program organized by the Yingge Ceramics Museum. Using acrylic paints, participants create their imagined cosmic planets. Once completed, the painted works are fitted with a complimentary LED light, transforming them into practical handheld lamps that also serve as stylish home decor. According to the ceramics teacher, beyond just painting, this activity helps train children’s hand muscles and fosters creativity with colors. Do you know how hippos cool off? They often stay in the water to beat the heat, not only playing in the water but also loving to roll around in mud pits. In line with the local ceramic art features of Yingge, the museum has launched a “Mud-Playing Hippo – Clay Molding DIY” course.RegistrationThe material fee is just NT$50. Professional instructors will provide careful guidance on-site. Simply divide the clay into several parts and, with a bit of skillful handiwork, a wide-mouthed hippo takes shape right before your eyes.

The Ceramics Museum stated that to allow the public to experience the joy of ceramics through play, the museum regularly plans various themed clay modeling activities. It also organizes children’s parent-child experiences and adult hands-on workshops in conjunction with special exhibitions.
