Alishan Guesthouse Centennial Celebration – Stay One Night Free with 60-Year-Old Photos

The historic Alishan Guesthouse is turning 100 this year. From now until the end of December, guests who provide photos of the guesthouse taken more than 20 years ago can enjoy discounted room rates, and those with photos over 60 years old can even stay one night in the century-old cypress wood observation suite.

The Alishan Guesthouse features a unique architectural structure, built using the rare mortise-and-tenon technique without a single nail. Established in 1913 during the Japanese colonial period, it originally served as a Japanese guesthouse. It has hosted seven Japanese governors-general and six heads of state from China and abroad. Today, it has transformed into a tourist hotel that bridges history and modernity, with a total of 139 rooms.

To celebrate its centennial, the Alishan Guesthouse is offering an unprecedented special deal. From now until the end of December, guests who provide old photos of their stay at the guesthouse will enjoy extremely low rates. Those who provide photos over 60 years old can stay one night for free in the century-old cypress wood observation suite; photos over 50 years old receive a 20% discount; 40–50 years old, 30% off; 30–40 years old, 40% off; and 20–30 years old, 50% off.
