The “Art Blog” event of this year’s Luodong Town Fringe Festival in Yilan County offers 12 free art DIY activities from now until August 9, allowing children to enjoy the fun of creation. From July 27 to August 10, Luodong Town will hold its 12th Fringe Festival near Zhongshan Park in the town, with this year’s theme being “Colorful Carnival of Creativity.” The festival features a series of performances and activities including creative workshops, fringe parties, creative float displays, the Art Blog, and the Kids’ Zone.

The highlight of the event is the “Fringe Creative Street Parade” on the weekend of August 10 from 3 pm to 6 pm, during which the town’s main streets will be closed to traffic. Around 65 groups from the community or civil organizations will parade together in their unique creative costumes, allowing the public to experience the charm of this small town.

The Luodong Town Office said today (30th) that this year’s “Art Blog” exhibition area has invited 12 art practitioners to take part. From now until August 9, free DIY activities such as hand pottery, leather carving, wax art, knotting, and painting will be arranged every evening from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, allowing children to enjoy the fun of creation and make their own unique creative works. In addition, the Zhongshan Park also has a Kids’ Zone, where from now until August 10, every evening from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, science games combining creativity, science, daily life, mechanics, balance, pressure, lever principles, and kinetic energy will be offered. For example, children can turn a hand-cranked generator to make a water jet shoot high, or ride a pedal-powered car to drive a model train.
