The Grand Hotel Taipei is not only Taipei’s premier Chinese palace-style hotel, but it also offers a variety of exquisite palace dim sum and imperial cuisine. Among them, Madame Chiang Kai-shek’s favorite Red Bean Sponge Cake is the most renowned. Now, the Grand Hotel Taipei has begun collaborating with Taipei 101, making it possible to purchase a range of Grand Hotel Taipei delicacies at Taipei 101 in the future.
In fact, back in the 1960s, thanks to the Grand Hotel Taipei’s in-house airline kitchen, the hotel even operated restaurants at the airport, allowing both domestic and international travelers to enjoy its gourmet offerings. However, in 1998, with the closure of the airline kitchen, the airport restaurants bid farewell. To savor Grand Hotel Taipei’s cuisine, one had to visit the hotel in person.
Regarding the collaboration with Taipei 101, the Grand Hotel Taipei explained that Taipei 101 is not only a consumption landmark in Taiwan but its shopping mall also gathers top international brands and fine dining. General Manager Yang Shou-yi of the Grand Hotel Taipei is actively pursuing diversified development, including plans to return to Taoyuan Airport and set up outlets in department stores.
Starting December 25, visitors can purchase the world-famous Red Bean Sponge Cake beloved by Madame Chiang Kai-shek, the Yuanshan Pineapple Cake selected by President Tsai Ing-wen as a souvenir, the Yuanshan Beef Noodles reminiscent of the hometown flavors of Mainland veterans, and a variety of classic state banquet-level delicacies—all on the B1 floor of Taipei 101. Experience history through your taste buds, where noble cuisine transcends time, and the timeless elegance crafted by the Grand Hotel Taipei will continue to accompany everyone.
