Travel the Su-Hua "Blue Highway" – The Lina Ferry Sets Sail

Today (the 7th), the 10,000-ton luxury fast passenger-cargo roll-on/roll-off vessel "Lina Ferry," operated by Donglian Shipping, a subsidiary of Huagang Group, embarked on its maiden voyage, launching services along the Blue Highway route between Su'ao and Hualien. On the first day, 700 passengers traveled from Su'ao to Hualien aboard the Lina Ferry.

Donglian Shipping stated that starting tomorrow, except for Tuesdays, the Lina Ferry will operate daily round-trip services between Su'ao and Hualien until September 8. The ferry departs Su'ao at 10:00 AM, arrives in Hualien at 12:00 PM, and then returns from Hualien to Su'ao at 2:00 PM. There will be a total of 29 voyages. Passengers sailing on the Lina Ferry may also have the chance to spot whales and dolphins swimming nearby, while enjoying the lush mountain-and-sea scenery along the Su-Hua coastline—like having a coastal highway on the sea.

The 10,000-ton "Lina Ferry" was imported from abroad at a cost of NT$2 billion and can accommodate approximately 800 passengers, divided into economy class, business class, and first class. Single one-way ticket prices are NT$700, NT$1,000, and NT$1,500 respectively. Donglian also noted that once the Lina Ferry’s ramp is completed in mid-August, it will be able to carry tourist buses, private cars, motorcycles, and bicycles on board, offering another travel option to eastern Taiwan. Additionally, the Lina Ferry is expected to launch a new route between Taipei Harbor and Pingtan, Fujian in mid-September.
