1. Nantou “Qingjing Elevated Scenic Walkway,” approximately 1.2 km long (Expected to open May 27, 2017)
To prevent conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles, Nantou County Government constructed Qingjing’s first alpine walkway, stretching about 1.2 km along the slope of Provincial Highway 14A. From the air, it looks like a pure white python. Located at an altitude of 1,700 to 2,000 meters, this scenic walkway connects the National Guest House to the south entrance of Qingqing Grassland. After opening on May 27, visitors can enjoy Qingjing’s lush greenery and the beauty of Qilai Mountain. Current ticket prices are NT$50 for adults, NT$30 for half-price, and NT$10 for discounted tickets.

2. Chiayi Meishan “Taiping Cloud Ladder,” 281 meters long (Expected to open September 2017)
The highly anticipated longest suspension bridge in Taiwan, the “Taiping Cloud Ladder,” spans 281 meters and sits at an altitude of about 1,000 meters. It is expected to begin operations in September. The bridge stretches from Meishan’s Taiping Village Wangfeng Platform across the Sanyuan Rainbow Waterfall to Guishan, allowing visitors to overlook Chiayi’s scenery, enjoy sea of clouds, and take in views of Meishan’s 36 curves. Reservation is planned, and the highest ticket price will be NT$150.

3. Taoyuan Fuxing “Xinxikou Suspension Bridge,” 303 meters long (Expected to open before the end of 2017)
Due to the aging structure of the original Xikou Suspension Bridge, Fuxing District Office demolished the old bridge and built the “Xinxikou Suspension Bridge” nearby. The District Office stated that the main structure is completed but surrounding facilities are still under construction, with plans for public opening by the end of 2017. Once operational, the 303-meter-long bridge will surpass Pingtung’s Shan Chuan Liuli Suspension Bridge to become Taiwan’s longest “hammock-style suspension bridge.” In addition to enjoying the surrounding mountain and forest views, visitors can also take in the sights of Jiabanshan Park and Shimen Reservoir, making it a new landmark for Taoyuan and even all of Taiwan.

4. Nantou Xinyi “Shuanglong Suspension Bridge,” 345 meters long (Expected to be completed in the second half of 2018)
The famous Shuanglong Waterfall attraction in Nantou had its trails and boardwalks destroyed during Typhoon Morakot, leading to seven years of stagnant tourism. The Nantou County Government has re-planned and constructed a roughly 345-meter sky bridge. Construction resumed in March this year and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2018. With a drop of 97 to 100 meters from the bridge to the river valley, walking across offers a thrilling ups and downs experience, nearly 30 stories high, delivering an exhilarating suspended feeling. It will become a backyard garden for the Shuanglong community upon completion.
