The Longtan Township Office in Taoyuan County has carefully selected 10 of the most representative scenic spots in Longtan, compiling them into a beautifully designed notebook. These include well-known tourist attractions such as Longtan Pond, Shimen Reservoir, Rugu Mountain, and the Tung Blossom Trail. Visitors can browse through the notebook at the township office and use it as a guide to explore the beautiful surroundings of Longtan.

According to the Longtan Township Office, the 10 spots were selected through a joint evaluation by the office and local residents, followed by professional photography on-site. The selected sites include: Moon Over Nantian (Longtan Pond), Maple Charm at Shimen (Shimen Reservoir), Panoramic View from High Ground (Rugu Mountain), Whispering Blossoms (Shimen Irrigation Canal), Fragrant Tea Valley (Tea Plantation), Rare Guests of Tung Blossom (Tung Blossom Trail), Red Bridge of Glutinous Rice (Daping), National Treasure No. 1 (Water Lily at Bazhangli), National Treasure No. 2 (Sacred Monument Pavilion), and SanKeng Old Street.

The township office secretariat noted that among the scenic spots, Rugu Mountain is the highest point in the Longtan area, offering views that even extend to Taipei 101. The mountaintop is home to many unique restaurants, making it a great spot for gatherings with friends or couples. Many believe that Longtan Pond best represents Longtan, especially with Nantian Temple standing in the middle of the pond. The reflections of the temple, forests, morning light, sunset, and moon on the water create a stunning scene, earning it the poetic name "Moon Over Nantian."

The 10 Scenic Spots of Longtan notebook not only provides detailed introductions to each attraction but also boasts high-quality printing. The township office explained that each notebook costs about 70 NT dollars to print, hence they are available only as “limited-edition” giveaways — even township office staff couldn’t get one. The public can visit the office to browse the notebook and inquire further.
