A must-visit pink café for cherry blossom girls near Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

“okinawasun” is a cute shop spotted by a friend on Instagram. Located near Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (the stunning Churaumi Aquarium), okinawasun features a pink and white color scheme both inside and out. Its charming, colorful decor attracts many girls who come here specifically to take photos, making it a popular “Instagrammable” spot. I originally thought the shop’s name was “okinawa lover,” which was written on the wall, but when I searched for “okinawa lover,” I couldn’t find any information. That’s when I realized the true name of this adorable café is “okinawasun” (オキナワサンスム).

PS: “Instagrammable” is a popular term in Japan from 2017, referring to places—like scenic spots, cafés, or restaurants—where taking and sharing photos earns you admiration and lots of positive feedback.

The pink and white walls face each other, and under the blue sky and white clouds, okinawasun looks like a house from a fairy tale.

This pink wall is known as the “photo-famous wall,” and girls definitely spend quite some time taking pictures here.

The entrance serves as both a merchandise counter and the ordering area.

The shop is filled with all kinds of cute fruit decorations.

The interior space is renovated from an old Okinawan folk house, with the floor retaining the wood’s natural color and the walls painted in bright, cheerful shades of blue and pink.

I ordered the signature fruit slush (medium size, 450 yen), and although the fruit pieces weren’t very big, they were still refreshing and delicious.

The fruit slush made with dragon fruit and passion fruit had generous ingredients and tasted cool and refreshing. Aside from coffee and slush drinks, the shop also offers light meals like paninis and pasta, though the menu often changes, so it's a good idea to check their Facebook page for the latest offerings before visiting.
