Kaohsiung Tourism Passport Offers Discounts at 78 Stores for 500 Days — Save Over NT$160,000

The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has launched a tourism passport that features 78 shops offering food, accommodation, tourist factories, souvenirs, and cultural and creative goods. The passport offers discounts until “New Year’s Eve” through the end of next year — a total of 500 days. Customers can collect stamps from purchases and enter lucky draws for cash vouchers and accommodation coupons in the Greater Kaohsiung area. Using the passport can save you up to over NT$160,000.

The “2013 Sunshine Kaohsiung Study Tour Discount Passport” is limited to 30,000 copies. In addition to including dining, entertainment, and shopping venues, it also provides suggested travel routes. Tourists can explore locations from Tianliao, the Moon World, Liouguei Xinyi Forest Recreation Area, all the way to Qishan Old Street. This year’s “biggest event,” the Yellow Duck display, is also not to be missed. The city government says visitors can plan multi-day itineraries to fully enjoy what Kaohsiung has to offer.

Visitors arriving in Kaohsiung by public transportation can exchange their ticket stubs for the passport at the Tourism Service Centers at Kaohsiung Railway Station or the airport. Purchasing a Kaohsiung MRT one-day pass, spending over NT$100 at the MRT Goods Pavilion, or recharging an iPASS card with over NT$200 at one time also qualifies you to get the passport at MRT Formosa Boulevard Station. Additionally, the Tourism Bureau has partnered with navigation device companies to digitize the passport. Users can download it via smartphones or GPS navigators and show the discount icon when making purchases to enjoy the same benefits.
