“In my heart, autumn is when entire mountainsides turn golden and red.” The “U.S. Dream Vacation,” jointly organized by the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the U.S. Tourism Promotion Association, has entered its third year this time. Centered around the themes of the four seasons, the first edition kicks off with the upcoming “autumn.” Through photography activities and photo sharing, the event hopes to encourage those who have visited the U.S. to showcase the local beauty. The grand prize includes a chance to win round-trip tickets between Taipei and Hawaii.

According to the latest statistics from the Department of Commerce, since the implementation of the U.S. visa waiver program, the number of Taiwanese traveling to the U.S. has increased by 20%. In January and February this year, a total of 58,000 people traveled from Taiwan to the U.S. Huang Hailan, head of the Commercial Section at the AIT, stated that the purpose of this event is to enhance traveler exchanges in Taipei. Huang also mentioned that early autumn in the U.S. begins in September, and the sight of leaves turning yellow is reminiscent of a Monet painting, truly unforgettable.

This season’s “American Autumn” theme runs from now until October 7. Simply upload photos of autumn scenery or activities in the U.S. to the “My U.S. Dream Vacation” website, or share them via social media, for a chance to win a set of round-trip tickets between Taipei and Hawaii.
