One drink equals a full meal — Tainan’s ultra-filling bubble tea is loaded with red beans, Job’s tears, and milk

One drink is enough for a meal — the most satisfying beverage in Tainan is here. A single bubble tea is packed with fresh milk, mung beans, tapioca pearls, Job’s tears, and red beans, with toppings taking up six to seven-tenths of the cup. This incredibly generous drink costs just over NT$60, and many nearby students say they rely on it on summer days when they can’t eat a proper meal.

Located in the alleyways of East District, Tainan City, First Stop Healthy Drinks is a hidden gem often frequented by local high school and elementary school students. Tucked away in a quiet lane, you’d never know this treasure trove of topping-packed drinks was here.

At First Stop Healthy Drinks, bubble tea prices start at NT$15, with the most expensive being just NT$60. In addition to regular tea, juice, fresh milk series, and winter melon tea, the most popular option is the “Healthy & Filling” series.

NT$60 may sound a bit steep at first, but most who try it say it’s worth every penny. The shop doesn’t skimp on ingredients — customers can load up on tapioca pearls, Job’s tears, mung beans, grass jelly, red beans, taro, and coconut jelly. Most toppings are available for free, with only red beans and taro costing an extra NT$5. You can pile in as much as you like of your favorite ingredients.

Store Manager Zhong explains that all toppings are freshly made in-store. There’s a section on the menu called “Healthy Add-ons,” where all the toppings in those drinks are free to swap, except for red beans and taro which cost an additional NT$5. Toppings generally fill up half the cup, offering a very hearty and substantial portion.

When asked about the shop’s specialties, Store Manager Zhong says that besides the generous portions, another big draw is their exclusive drinks — natural mung bean, Job’s tears, and tea combinations such as Job’s Tears Green Tea and Mung Bean Green Tea. Priced affordably, the large size is just NT$20 and they sell really well.
