Despite several regions in Taiwan suffering severe damage from the back-to-back impact of Typhoons Trami and Kong-rey, the “Da Douliu pomelo” fortunately escaped the storms and was harvested as scheduled. On September 8, a “Douliu Pomelo Exhibition and Sales Event” will be held at Tamsui’s Golden Waterfront Park to promote healthy and worry-free pomelos.

The Douliu City Government stated that on September 8, a pomelo sales promotion event will be held at Taipei’s Tamsui Golden Waterfront Park. The event aims to attract crowds using life-sized Douliu human cutouts and art installations featuring the “Douliu Goddess protecting the pomelo.” To get closer to consumers, visitors who take a selfie with the fruit farmer cutout can enjoy a 10% discount. There will also be a limited-time “Thousand People Protect the Pomelo” event (from 11:00 to 11:20 AM on the 8th)—participants whose names contain the characters “bǎo (ㄅㄠˇ)” or “yōu (ㄧㄡ)” can receive a free pomelo sticker just by having their name called during the event.
