Located in Banqiao, Boom Chew X GAUZA is founded by a young couple, specializing in "French crepes" — a rare find in Taiwan. Open for five months, the shop remains relatively unknown due to its discreet location, but nearby residents quickly became regulars. They love not only the spacious and cozy space but also the simple yet creative flavors.
Many might be puzzled by the shop’s name. Actually, “Boom Chew” is “Bonjour,” meaning “hello” in French, while “GAUZA” is Taiwanese for “good morning.” Just from the name, you can tell this French crepe shop probably has some local creative twists, right?

Banana Chocolate Fresh Cream – NT$90
This crepe is made with freshly sliced bananas, Nutella chocolate, and fresh cream. It’s not too hard to bite into, nor overly sweet. The shop kindly reminds customers to eat it as soon as possible, as the fresh cream will gradually lose its texture over time.

Owner’s Special Chicken Roll – NT$90
This chicken roll is quite unique. The chicken breast uses tenderloin, which is lower in fat but still not dry, resulting in a tender texture. The shop’s homemade sauce, when paired with the crepe and chicken, offers great flavor layers. It’s not overly salty, and the addition of plenty of fresh vegetables makes it refreshing and mild.

Sambal Pork Bubble Noodle – NT$90
Taiwanese-style sambal is mixed with pork slices and stir-fried greens, with a touch of mildly spicy chili to enhance the flavor — making it approachable even for those who don’t usually eat spicy food. The owner says, “Our core concept is to infuse Taiwanese elements. Stir-fried bubble noodles aim to give guys a hearty, filling feel, and the pork is sourced from local small farms.”

White Beard Earl Grey – NT$65
Made with Twinings Earl Grey tea and bergamot aroma, it’s very smooth to drink. The milk foam on top of the drink can be slightly adjusted according to customer preference. The taste isn’t as cloying as some commercial milk tea foams, making it more refreshing.
