This year, the New Taipei City Government has adopted the brand “New Taipei’s Three Health Treasures,” promoting three healthy, nutritious, and safe ingredients—green bamboo shoots, sweet potatoes, and yams—to share with the public. On the 10th, they specially invited popular beauty streamer Chien I-chia to take part in an agricultural experience tour themed “From Farm to Table,” where she tasted a delightful array of sweet potato-based desserts.

New Taipei City boasts beautiful mountains and waters, along with a unique natural cultivation environment. One of its three treasures, the sweet potato—mainly grown along the northern coast—is at its sweetest best in August. The main varieties cultivated in New Taipei are the red-fleshed sweet potato (Tai-Nong No. 66) and the yellow-fleshed sweet potato (Tai-Nong No. 57). Thanks to the terrain, these sweet potatoes are rich in natural sweetness, have a pleasing round shape, and offer a soft, fluffy texture. They are also high in antioxidants, dietary fiber, and help reduce cholesterol, making them well-suited to modern dietary preferences.

Zhou Zhengnan, head of the promotion division at the Sanchi District Farmers' Association, which promotes local agricultural specialties, said that to let the public enjoy the delicious taste of sweet potatoes, in addition to offering a variety of traditional Chinese pastries made with sweet potatoes, they also invited Jiang Yucheng, the owner of the Sanchi No. 2 Warehouse Cafe, to demonstrate the exclusive recipe for a handcrafted golden sweet potato cheesecake that is both nutritious and delicious.
Furthermore, recognizing the growing trend in Taiwan for in-depth travel, where visitors no longer just sightsee but seek distinctive, innovative experiences that allow them to immerse themselves in local life and connect with the region’s culture and nature, New Taipei City this year specially invited the local European-style restaurant “Romina European Cuisine” in Sanchi District. By combining local production and diverse agricultural marketing, the city offers the public a chance to experience the journey of agricultural products from farm to table. Using Tai-Nong No. 57 sweet potatoes, the restaurant also prepares fresh, made-to-order dishes on-site, introducing not only the uniquely sweet flavor of sweet potatoes but also refined, healthy, and one-of-a-kind European cuisine.
