Taiwanese tour group in France: Tour guide robbed of NT$1.34 million; Tourism Bureau reports latest updates

This morning, it was reported that a Taiwanese tour group in France was robbed, with the group’s tour guide in Lyon, France, having NT$1.34 million stolen from them. In response, the Tourism Bureau has issued a latest statement, noting that the group is an 11-day France-Switzerland tour operated by Taichung’s Chen Shan Mei International Travel Service from May 16 to May 26. The company’s general manager has provided an update on the situation.

According to a reply from the company’s general manager, Kuo Yihao, at around 8 a.m. on the 18th, just as the group was about to depart from Paris to Lyon, the tour leader, Lee Cheng-han, was robbed of approximately €20,000 in cash that he was carrying by criminals right at the hotel entrance. The incident has been immediately reported to the police. The tourists suffered no financial loss and are all safe. The day’s itinerary was only slightly delayed by one hour, and the rest of the trip continued without disruption.
