Nestled on the lakeside opposite Bihu Park in Neihu, be be cafe (贝贝咖啡) is a beloved spot for those who enjoy soaking up the afternoon sun,
The grocery-style space, crafted by a designer, is incredibly peaceful, private, and distinctive,
drawing many visitors from afar to enjoy this artful café that blends coffee with design.
It’s not a restaurant — it’s a café.

I’d heard for ages about a lovely little café near Bihu Park, but with a hectic work schedule, my afternoons were usually spent battling deadlines, and evenings meant working late,
So it was only on a rare occasion when I met up with Jim to discuss my future plans that I finally got to unwind at be be cafe.
Although I couldn’t bask in the warm sunlight streaming through the windows,
stepping into the café instantly felt like coming home — warm, cozy, and relaxed.
Especially seeing Alice riding her French bulldog outside — I almost wanted to follow them in, feeling like I’d stumble upon all kinds of delightful encounters.

The interior of be be cafe features plenty of wood decor, with a warm color scheme,
and even though the tables and chairs aren’t uniform in style or color, it doesn’t feel odd or mismatched — instead, it adds a playful, childlike charm.
Look up and you’ll see the café’s lampshades are wrapped in bubble wrap — everyone’s favorite stress-relief material — no wonder the lighting feels so soft.

Dots are one of the key elements at be be cafe, and the owner, like Mite, is totally dot-obsessed,
as you can clearly see on the left wall as you walk in!!!!
Just three simple framed dot patterns in blue, green, and red create an adorable vibe — that’s the magic touch of a skilled designer ♥

In front of the counter, stacks of wooden drawers in various sizes create a scene straight out of a fairy tale or cartoon.

Perhaps you’ll find a book you’d like to read or some information you want to absorb.

be be cafe’s counter area is adorned with cute little items, exuding a relaxing, post-work coffee aroma that’s perfect for unwinding.

The self-service counter area at be be cafe is quite unique, differing from the conventional setups of most restaurants,
with IKEA-style sauce jars, wooden boxes holding cups and cutlery,
and most notably, water bottles shaped like chemical cones and slate coasters — showcasing a striking contrast that’s unexpectedly beautiful.
It also reminded me of the cosmetics research lab in “Happiness Choice” where He Lifang worked.

Dining here in the afternoon has a very British tea time vibe.

I couldn’t help but wonder if those tiny wooden pegs on the wall are for hanging things ((?

The first floor of be be cafe may look small, with limited seating, but it never feels crowded.
If you’re looking for something more comfortable, spacious, and even more private, the basement is a great option.

At the bottom of the basement stairs, a white bicycle seemed to transport us to a different world.

The cafe’s basement resembles a gallery, yet also has the vibe of a European-style lounge.
The eye-catching paintings on the walls may all be half the handiwork of the owner.
Who would’ve thought there’d be such a grocery-style restaurant in Neihu!!!??

be be cafe’s basement isn’t only cozy in ambiance, but the air is pleasant too—no stuffiness or dampness typical of basements.

The ceiling uses mirrors to enhance the sense of space, giving an illusion of stepping into an upside-down world.

Wooden items just have that texture—no matter how you arrange them, they look great ♥

Usually when there are fewer guests, the downstairs area isn’t open, but you can ask the staff if you’d like to take a look.
Visiting be be cafe without exploring the basement,
is like seeing your crush, asking only for their name without adding them on Facebook—it’s such a missed opportunity.

We chose the seat right at the back as soon as you walk in,
admiring the cute be be cafe Alice girl and French bulldog on the napkin while sipping water, thinking about what to order.

When the server brought out the soup, I was internally torn with excitement—all because of this adorable dotted bowl. I really wanted to buy one from be be cafe to take home, yay.
Drinking soup from the dotted bowl is such a happy experience, k8. This must be the sentiment of all dotted-pattern lovers!!!!!!!

Welcome all dotted-pattern lovers to come to be be cafe and find your dotted match!!!!
And on the day I had this meal, coincidentally, I was wearing my dotted outfit, so I took a family reunion-style photo with the dotted bowl :p

Okay, of course, this soup isn’t just cute with its dotted design.
Nowadays, I’ve grown to love tomato and vegetable soup even more than corn chowder because it’s healthier and good for the skin—delicious and beneficial.
The fragrant tomato flavor paired with light vegetables is flavorful yet healthy.
But I’m not sure if it’s always the vegetable and tomato soup.

The dishes at be be cafe are served in cute, fresh, and simple presentations, but after all, they’re still casual meals, and the portions are a bit small.
Even though it’s a little bit not filling, I have to say the pork chop is quite large, and the table is filled with the subtle sweetness of spices and honey mustard.
Just consider it a delicious diet meal!!! ((But remember to cook some greens yourself when you get home, or else you won’t go to the bathroom:P

%? Wild mushroom chicken penne with truffle cream sauce 190 yuan (Upgraded set meal total: 320 yuan)
Again, it follows the delicate and minimalistic style, with a piece of bread that adds a bit more satiety.
The penne and truffle cream sauce are truly a perfect match!!! The sauce may not be a lot, but the texture is just right.

This is the aquarium drink that Mite has been looking forward to the most!!!!!!!
Ever since starting the blog, I’ve forced myself to try special drinks regularly, no longer just sticking to my beloved milk tea, black tea, or cocoa ((Who can understand this kind of feeling OTZ
So when I saw the word ‘Aquarium’ on the menu, I immediately asked the staff. After hearing about its backstory, I became even more interested.
Indeed, it looks exactly like an aquarium!! It looks quite creative and adorable ♥

This special drink containing trace amounts of alcohol comes with a long spoon when served.
I couldn’t help but quickly fish out the gummy bears at the bottom—they’re as cute as our Taiwanese Yuanzai ♥ ♥ ♥
Paired with the sugary rimmed glass, this is literally a sweet-in-the-heart-and-mouth aquarium drink.
But I have to be honest—it’s a “very pretty” specialty drink, and you should drink it quickly, otherwise the gummy bears will harden in the cold XDDDDD

It’s sweet, but the small cup really isn’t satisfying. How about... ordering another dessert then ((booted~~~

Remember how we mentioned earlier that this café is located right next to Bi Hu Park, one of the most scenic spots in Neihu?
You can come here for snacks and coffee or tea after a meal, or even have lunch here.
That way, you can soak up the warm sunlight flooding the café.
When the sun becomes gentler, take a stroll around Bi Hu Park, go for a light hike, and do some birdwatching.
After working up an appetite, head to Neihu 737 Night Market for some street food.
Then your day will be absolutely perfect :)

be be cafe is a café, not a restaurant,
so it doesn’t offer a wide variety of hearty, filling meals,
but it does provide a cozy, tranquil environment with a grocery-style space filled with the aroma of coffee—perfect for soaking up a relaxing afternoon ♥
