Taiwan International Ski Expo Kicks Off on the 19th – Experience Dry Artificial Skiing on Site

As Taiwanese people place increasing importance on leisure travel, in addition to general urban sightseeing, snow viewing or experiencing snow activities has become one of the favored options for Taiwanese tourists in recent years. To promote ski tourism, the Republic of China Ski & Grass Skiing Association and Gaofeng Ski Resort are hosting the "Taiwan International Ski Expo," which will launch during the Mid-Autumn holiday, providing the public with a diverse and engaging way to get to know the sport of skiing.

The "Taiwan International Ski Expo," opening on September 19th at the New Taipei City (Wugu) Industrial & Commercial Exhibition Center, will cover four major themes: skiing sports, travel packages, skiing equipment, and ski photography. On-site, Taiwan’s first-ever "dry artificial ski slope" will be set up, and daily lucky draws will be held for flights to Japan and other destinations, as well as ski resort accommodation vouchers and ski gear, with total prizes worth up to one million dollars.

Due to the opening of the Taiwan-Japan open skies agreement this year, along with factors such as the yen exchange rate and sufficient snowfall, Japan has become a popular ski destination for 2013. In addition, the Republic of China Ski & Grass Skiing Association has also partnered with multiple travel agencies to offer related travel packages, with prices ranging from NT$24,000 to NT$88,000.
