While the hot air balloon craze is still going strong, Tainan’s Zoumalje Farm has put a creative spin on it by turning hot air balloons into kites. During the Mid-Autumn holiday, the farm is offering “remote-controlled hot air balloon free flight” as an alternative new experience.

This summer, hot air balloon trial flights launched in Taitung and Hualien attracted large numbers of tourists to the regions. Perhaps finding traditional hot air balloon rides too conventional, Tainan’s Zoumalje Farm has introduced “remote-controlled hot air balloons” for the first time—turning them into kites. Even if you can’t actually ride in one, this new attraction is sure to draw many visitors eager to check it out.

Farm manager Tian Gengsong said that the “remote-controlled hot air balloon free flight” invites professional instructors to assist visitors in operating the balloons. The remote-controlled balloons can rise up to about 30 meters high and fly up to 100 meters away, giving participants the thrill and sense of accomplishment of controlling a hot air balloon.

Fees: Approximately 20 people per session; per person fee NT$1,200 (NT$100 discount for overnight guests)
