A Blank Canvas” aims to transport you into a world of blankness, helping you return to your most authentic self. It not only allows you to relax your mind but also lets you experience the joy of papermaking — a museum that literati simply shouldn’t miss.

Covering an area of 160 ping, the Tree Paper Memorial Museum transforms the traditional long and narrow street-front building space into a four-story structure through clever design. The first floor, Show Room + Paper Mill, offers a variety of paper products for purchase. The second floor hosts the Tree Platform special exhibitions, with the current “Paper Sensation. A Blank Canvas” being displayed here. The third floor is the museum’s permanent exhibition area showcasing various types of paper used in daily life, while the fourth floor is an activity area where visitors can closely experience the papermaking process.

This exhibition, “Paper Sensation: A Blank Canvas,” uses pure white paper to remind everyone to return to the origin of creativity. Through the multi-sensory experience brought by paper, it helps those who are overloaded with information and accustomed to fast browsing to calm their minds, opening up a blank space for imagination and re-creation, thus reinvigorating the spirit and experiencing new things.

The Tree Paper Memorial Museum was officially opened to the public in October 1995 after five years of preparation by the Chang Chun Cotton Paper Foundation. It fulfills the wish of Chen Shuhuo, the founder of the Chang Chun Cotton Paper group, who tragically passed away in an airplane crash at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport in October 1990. Upholding his spirit, the museum aims to fully leverage its educational and promotional role, and to become a paper museum with distinctive local Taiwanese characteristics.
