Affordable and generous American burgers in Zhongli that are almost too big to take a bite of

On the day we were heading to the airport with friends, we made a special detour to Zhongli to look for food. After searching online for nearby eateries, everyone recommended this place—88 Burgers near Mei Hua Tai. When my burger-loving friend heard about it, their eyes lit up, and they immediately decided this was the spot!! It’s located in a small alleyway next to Mei Hua Tai. Parking is available, and there’s a paid parking lot nearby. It’s a small but cozy, warm-toned shop run by three friendly guys who offer great service and are super nice.

The small sign and cute illustrations give off the vibe of something thought up by a group of adorable guys.

These illustrations made me think it was a shop run by foreigners? But I didn’t see any non-locals there? The art style is quite fun and cute~

Most customers here get takeout, but there are still chairs where you can sit and wait...

There are two tables set up outside the shop. If you don’t want takeout, you can also eat inside, though there aren’t many seats!!

The prices on the menu are for à la carte main meals. For an extra NT$50, you can upgrade to a combo that includes fries and a drink. The prices are really reasonable!!

Cheese Pork Chop Burger NT$149 [Combo]

At first glance, it looks pretty similar to others, but mine had cheese, which made it easier to recognize. Each one is crispy and golden, generously portioned and filling. In addition to the main burger, there are chicken nuggets, fries, and a can of cola. Aside from the main burger being top-notch, the nuggets and fries were also pretty good.

Spicy and Sour Chicken Leg Burger NT$149 [Combo]

The large, crispy chicken leg is coated in a tangy Thai-style sauce, which helps cut through the richness. The chicken is tender and juicy, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Each combo also comes with two chicken nuggets, which are also crispy. The batter seems pretty thick, but it doesn’t affect the texture.

I was worried that the crispiness might make the chicken dry, but it really wasn’t. It’s crispy and juicy—really tasty.

Combo drinks include options like cola, Sprite, lemon black tea, hot coffee, and hot cocoa.

I’m really not good at eating big burgers—you see how huge this one is, how could you fit it in one bite~

I suggest you press the burger down firmly or move the lettuce aside first, so it’s much easier to eat. Honestly, with these generous American burgers, you either have to smash them down or eat the parts separately~ XD. The cheese pork chop paired with that sauce is absolutely perfect—it’s a great match and so delicious!! And the crispy texture of the pork chop... heavenly~~~~~~

Such affordable, generous, and hearty American burgers are right near Mei Hua Tai in Zhongli—not hard to find—and there are handsome guys providing attentive service too. They’re really thoughtful. The day we went, it was pouring rain, and they even reminded us to be careful because the roads were slippery. They also kept giving out warm smiles. How could we not recommend this place to everyone?? Isn’t it amazing!!!
