100,000 people gather to witness the triumphant return of the yellow duck at Glory Pier

The yellow duck, which had been temporarily deflated to avoid a typhoon, made its comeback at Glory Pier on the final day of the Mid-Autumn holiday. It is estimated that over 100,000 people came to see the duck’s return. The city government stated that nighttime lighting around Glory Pier has been enhanced, and the duck’s illumination has been extended until midnight, which is expected to attract more night visitors. The duck’s exhibition in Kaohsiung will run until October 20.

At 2:40 p.m. on the 22nd, the Kaohsiung City Government began inflating the yellow duck on the shore of Glory Pier. Amid the attention and excited cheers of many duck fans, the duck slowly expanded from “a lump of egg yolk.” Once fully inflated, the yellow duck was lifted by two cranes into the water and anchored in place.
