Pineapple, ice cream, and waffles are the three most popular treats at Fu Jen University, but the university’s ice cream has especially gained a massive following. After undergoing summer renovations and expanding its storefront, it reopened on the 23rd. In addition to classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and mixed, special flavors were offered during the opening week. On the 23rd, it was “yogurt ice cream with mango sauce,” while the 24th featured “blueberry yogurt,” attracting large crowds of Fu Jen students and faculty who lined up to try the new flavors.

The ice cream sold by the Fu Jen University Department of Food Science internship shop has a 35-year history. Its rich and creamy taste has long won over students and faculty. Originally just a small stand outside the internship factory, it was transformed this summer into a European-style wooden cabin, complete with added outdoor terrace seating for a more comfortable dining experience. The ice cream is promoted as free from artificial colors or flavors, with main ingredients consisting mostly of water, plant-based butter, and nearly all milk—giving off a rich milky aroma. During the summer, it’s practically “a must-have item for everyone” on campus.

Regular Fu Jen ice cream flavors include vanilla, chocolate, and mixed, priced at NT$25. From September 23 to September 27 during the opening week, special flavors are also available: on the 23rd it’s “yogurt ice cream with mango sauce,” and on the 24th it’s “blueberry yogurt.” If you missed the “mango yogurt” on opening day, don’t worry—it’ll be back on the 25th. Special flavors are priced at NT$35.

Fu Jen University’s ice cream is open Monday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., located right next to the Department of Food Science internship factory.
