The Little Yellow Duck has sparked a nationwide craze. On its opening day, 200,000 people flocked to Glory Pier to catch a glimpse of the duck, and another 100,000 visited on the 20th morning. Despite being briefly sidelined due to Typhoon Usagi, the duck resumed display in the afternoon on the 22nd and still drew 150,000 visitors. Even on Monday, 60,000 people came to admire it. Organizers report that in just four days of exhibition, the total number of visitors has exceeded 500,000, surpassing expectations.
Larry Yen pointed out that not only is the whole nation crazy about the duck, but global media outlets have also been reporting on the Little Yellow Duck in Kaohsiung. He hopes that through this exhibition, the designer Florentijn Hofman’s philosophy of “love, peace, and happiness” will be conveyed, while allowing more people around the world to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Kaohsiung Harbor and get to know the city better.
