Korean BBQ brand "Maple Tree House" not yet open, but bookings exceed 3,000

The Taiwanese flagship store of the Korean-style BBQ brand "Maple Tree House" is set to officially open on May 25. Reservations opened on May 10, and slots for the first three weeks after opening have already been fully booked, with only walk-in spots remaining. In Korea, Maple Tree House is known for its Korean beef, but since imported Korean beef is not available, Taiwanese customers won't be able to enjoy it. However, the restaurant uses Australian and American Wagyu as substitutes, along with Iberico pork and black pork from Jeju, ensuring guests can still savor delicious grilled meats.

The most authentic way to enjoy the meal at Maple Tree House is with Korean perilla leaves (also called green shiso or Korean sesame leaves). Ronald, one of the investors and of Taiwanese-Korean heritage, said they specially imported Korean perilla leaves from Korea. After marination, these leaves are served alongside beef, mixed with shredded scallions, garlic slices, and Korean doenjang (fermented soybean paste).

Reservations opened on May 10, and the total number of bookings has now exceeded 3,000. As of the May 25 opening, phone reservations are fully booked, but some walk-in waitlist spots are still available—each time slot (there are three time slots per day) reserves five tables. During the opening period, diners will receive a free stone pot egg custard with their meal, and soft drinks are buy-one-get-one-free.
