What a long wait！The plum chicken that disappeared for three months is finally back！The newly opened“Moonlight Cottage Canteen”,uses the former kitchen team from Moon Cottage to revive the legendary flavors of Hakka cuisine and collaborates with the local farmers’ association in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, to ensure fresheringredients, while the “charcoal-grilled plum-glazed bucket chicken” remains the signature dish—tender, juicy chicken with a sweet and sour plum flavor. If you want to eat it, you have to make a reservation in advance！

Opened on March 25, Moonlight Cottage Canteen is located in the Agri-Academy Park in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County. In addition to the restaurant, the site also includes an area for growing organic vegetables. In the future, it will also open up to cultural and creative teams to revitalize the entire park, allowing visitors to not only enjoy Hakka-flavored cuisine but also stroll leisurely.

Faced with questions from the public about whether Moonlight Cottage Canteen is a branch of the previously closed Moon Cottage,the person in charge stated that it was indeed opened by the former head chef of Moon Cottage, and most of the kitchen staff are also from the previous restaurant.As for the front-of-house staff, locals are primarily hired.In terms of location, it is more convenient than before, with no issues of passing on narrow mountain roads, and it is closer to the city center. The cuisine continues the tradition, focusing on creative plum-based dishes combined with Hakka flavors.
