No more getting lost in Taipei Main Station’s indoor areas — now you can explore its indoor street view on Google Maps

No more getting lost in Taipei Main Station (北车)! The three-in-one railway hub, which combines Taiwan Railways, Taiwan High-Speed Rail, and Taipei Metro, can feel like a maze. But starting today, Taiwan Railways has partnered with Google to launch an indoor Google Maps Street View service for Taipei Main Station, created through real-scene photography. Passengers can easily browse the station layout and plan their routes, as well as locate entrances, exits, parking areas, and shops. This makes Taipei Main Station the first in Taiwan to offer indoor street view navigation online.

As Taipei Main Station serves as the interchange point for Taiwan Railways, Taiwan High-Speed Rail, and Taipei Metro, and features a vast and complex layout, many travelers find it difficult to get their bearings after entering. Taiwan Railways stated that in recent years, in addition to actively improving unclear signage, it hopes that through its partnership with Google, passengers will be able to use indoor maps to more conveniently find their destinations.

Taiwan Railways noted that the indoor street view coverage includes the station’s first-floor lobby, second-floor food court area, and B1 waiting zone. In the initial phase, staff wearing volunteer vests will also be deployed, carrying tablets to provide passengers with travel information and indoor guidance services. If the response is positive, the service may be extended to other similar stations.
