With striking red Dutch windmills, folk-style Mongolian yurts, and the rich aroma of coffee, all set against the vast harbor scenery—this beautiful view doesn’t require you to travel abroad. You can enjoy it right at Anping Fishing Port in Tainan City. The “Anping Port Leisure Plaza,” officially opened on October 12, has transformed the once-abandoned Tainan City Fisheries Association Anping Office into a new leisure highlight, giving locals and visitors an exciting new weekend destination.

The historically significant Anping Fishing Port was once Taiwan’s largest harbor. Although it has gradually been replaced by Anping Commercial Port, the Tainan City Government has been actively developing Anping Fishing Port into a tourism and leisure-oriented fishing harbor in recent years. This year, it was even recognized by the Fisheries Agency as one of Taiwan’s Top Ten Classic Charming Fishing Ports.

With investment from local Tainan entrepreneur Chairman Zheng Guochuan, Anping Fishing Port has been transformed into the “Anping Port Leisure Plaza.” The park features a variety of service facilities including a “Coffee Museum” showcasing coffee products from across Taiwan, a “Mongolian Yurt Experience Area,” a “Coastal Beer Plaza,” an “Anping Port Food Street,” a “Fine Gifts Corner,” a “Children’s Play and Camping Area,” and a “Dutch Windmill Landmark.”

Additionally, the park noted that the “Mongolian Yurt Experience Area,” specially imported from Hohhot in Inner Mongolia, offers seasonal services—accommodation in the summer and, although not available for overnight stays in the winter, visitors can still enjoy a steaming hot mutton hot pot inside. Classic comic book characters also make surprise appearances in the park to interact with visitors, ensuring your trip to Anping isn’t limited to just historic streets and old relics—you can also fully enjoy the unique seaside port scenery.
