Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has collaborated with all 22 counties and cities nationwide, bringing together industries related to “food, accommodation, travel, shopping, and transportation” along with over 10,000 tourism businesses, to launch a range of “double the perks” themed travel promotions, enabling the public to enjoy great experiences without breaking the bank.
Tourism Bureau Director-General Xie Weijun stated that recent county and city competition campaigns, ranging from the “Top 10 Night Markets” to this year’s “Top 10 Happiness & Great Travel Itineraries” vote, have transformed Taiwan’s tourism landscape from quantitative to qualitative growth. The “Taiwan Travel & Shop Bonanza” not only strengthens the regional tourism platform but also enables local governments to create better travel environments. With convenient and diverse transportation options connecting various attractions, the campaign aims to attract more domestic and international visitors.
Running from now until the end of March 2014, the “Taiwan Travel & Shop Bonanza” campaign features several great-value, featured promotional travel packages. For instance, visitors can enjoy discounts with the event handbook at the “Taipei Hot Spring Festival,” the “Yilan County 2013 Ageless Festival” specially designed for senior citizens, and Kaohsiung’s “Explore Jiaxian with Ease, Float Down a River” – a film-inspired travel experience.
