Winter Illumination Festival Kicks Off in Mie Prefecture, Japan – A Spectacular Display of Colorful Lights

Known as Japan’s largest winter illumination festival, it opened on the 25th at “Nagashima Spa Land’s Nabana no Sato” in Mie Prefecture, Japan. Nabana no Sato is a large outdoor park themed around seasonal flowers and plants. Last year, under the theme of “Nature,” it used 7 million bulbs to create a magnificent spectacle, featuring not only the Light Corridor and the Light Sea of Clouds but also Mount Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as one of the themes — with bulbs woven together to depict the beautiful seasons of Mount Fuji.

The “Diamond Fuji” is a unique and rare winter sight when the morning sun rises from the peak of Mount Fuji, shining brilliantly like a diamond. The winter illumination festival uses colorful bulbs to recreate the experience as if you were there in person. In addition to the winter Diamond Fuji, visitors can also enjoy the springtime Sakura Fuji, summer Lavender Fuji, and the moonlit Mount Fuji, each offering a different charm.

◆ 1. For those driving by car, you can park at Jazz Dream and take a free shuttle bus to the site.
◆ 2. There are direct buses from Chubu Centrair International Airport or Nagoya Station to Nabana no Sato.
◆ 3. Alternatively, take the Kintetsu Line to Nagashima Station and transfer to the direct bus to Nabana no Sato.
