Kids and teachers dress up for Halloween fun in front of the Rubber Duck; Taoyuan Land Art Festival draws huge crowds

With Halloween approaching, in front of the Yellow Rubber Duck exhibition area in Taoyuan, teachers and students from the Early Childhood Education Department at Yongping Industrial and Commercial School transformed into various creative Halloween characters and danced in the plaza. Under the slogan “Give candy for a smile,” echoing Florentijn Hofman’s hope that the Yellow Rubber Duck would bring simple joy to the world, the Duck Plaza was filled with laughter, adding another attraction to the Land Art Festival beyond the art installations.

On the 28th, the Taoyuan Land Art Festival entered its third day, also the first weekday. Though slightly fewer than the weekend opening, visitor numbers by evening still exceeded 200,000. Many teachers took the opportunity of the lighter crowd to bring children to see the duck.

Centered around Taoyuan’s ponds, the Land Art Festival, which aims to create an “art gallery without walls,” attracted renowned domestic and international artists to participate. In addition to the rare “Dot Art – Traces of Life” and the “Lotus” blooming on the ponds, which drew visitors from far and wide,
