Last updated 2026-09-25 — TSUJIRI? Richa is made from tea leaves carefully selected from Uji tea gardens in Kyoto, which are rich in minerals, so it’s authentic Japanese imported matcha. This time, I was invited to experience making my own matcha beverages at TSUJIRI? Richa’s Taichung Mitsukoshi store. There was an instructor to guide us, and all the materials were prepared for us — so thoughtful. Only after making it myself did I realize that matcha can be so versatile, and you can easily create incredibly tasty drinks and desserts with just a few simple steps~

I’ve written about this TSUJIRI? Richa store before — their Okura no Haru is amazing, pleaseclick here. Later on, I was really impressed by their matcha. I checked their official website and found out that TSUJIRI? Richa selects tea leaves from Uji tea gardens in Kyoto that are rich in minerals, so it’s authentic Japanese imported matcha. No wonder it’s so fragrant and delicate.

Located on B2F of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in Taichung, TSUJIRI? Richa is quite easy to find, and the exterior is very green.

The venue setup was quite elegant.

There was an instructor from Japan and a beautiful female host.

First, they taught us how to makeYuzu Omacha (Citrus Matcha).

Preparing the ingredients and tools.

The organizers had already prepared all the tools and ingredients for us.

First, pour yuzu honey into water with ice cubes and stir, then add more ice cubes. Separately, place the matcha powder into a bowl and add ice water.

Then take the chasen (bamboo whisk), and stir clockwise, up, down, and around until foam forms.

My friend was really focused and having fun.

Keep stirring until it looks like this, with bubbles forming.

Then it’ll look like rich and fragrant matcha. But that’s not all...

First, pour the matcha into a paper cup, then pour the matcha from the cup into the yuzu honey. The colors will naturally separate into layers — super pretty.

Yuzu Omacha
It’s done — the final drink has three layers of color: the top layer is white foam, the second layer is matcha, and the third is yuzu honey. When you’re ready to drink, stir everything together for the best taste. The flavor is super refreshing, with the sweet-sour aroma of yuzu and the rich fragrance of matcha. I didn’t expect them to go so well together. The sweet-tangy citrus and fresh, mellow tea flavor are so enjoyable, leaving a lingering fragrant and sweet aftertaste in the throat. It’s so likable, and you won’t want it to end after one sip.

Next, we continued to makeOmacha Cappuccino.

This one is even simpler — just prepare some matcha powder, a bit of wasanbon sugar, hot milk, and hot water. First, put the matcha powder into the bowl, add hot water, then whisk with the chasen for a while until it becomes foamy. Finally, pour the prepared hot milk into the matcha, and it’s done!!It's here!!

Sprinkle the remaining matcha powder on top of the foam, which makes it look even nicer. Then add an appropriate amount of wasanbon sugar depending on how sweet you like it.

Everyone’s creations turned out so beautiful, and the method is so simple yet yields such refined matcha beverages. I learned a lot ^^

A matcha cappuccino is only perfect when paired with dessert…
TSUJIRI? RICHASHOP was so thoughtful and prepareda White Bean Dorayaki Setto pair with their Yomatcha Cappuccino.

A perfect combination of TSUJIRI’s popular white beans and red beans—the best duo—with the delightful chewy texture of the dorayaki, it looks absolutely delicious. Isn’t this Doraemon’s favorite treat? I never expected that adding white beans would elevate the flavor so much. And don’t forget to enjoy it with matcha ice cream—it’s exquisitely smooth and rich, simply irresistible!! What a luxurious afternoon treat.

Hehe, time to dig in—Up~~

The white beans and tea are amazing too. They’re super chewy and bouncy, the red beans are soft, sweet, and fragrant, paired with the soft and chewy pancake—it’s honestly the best dorayaki I’ve ever had. I feel like the dorayaki you get outside is often a bit loose and crumbly, tasting more like sponge cake, but these have a soft, chewy texture with a lovely honey sweetness, they’re especially delicious^^.

After the experience ended, TSUJIRI? RICHASHOP even gave each of us a full set of the teaware we used during the session—how awesome is that?! Such a wonderful event, I’ll definitely have to join more in the future. TSUJIRI? RICHASHOP occasionally holds these kinds of experiences, so keep an eye on their official site when you can.

They’re currently running a promotion—friends who are interested should take advantage of the discount period to try Japan-imported rich and aromatic matcha.
