“Overjoyed” Strolling Among Flowers – Taichung’s New Du Flower Sea Festival Kicks Off on November 9

The 2013 Taichung Xinshè Flower Sea Festival will be held from November 9 to December 8, offering a five-week floral feast. With the theme “Roam Among Flowers, Enjoy Leisurely Travel,” the event features a vast 30-hectare flower landscape, four major exhibition areas, and eight themed pavilions. This joyous flower festival aims to make Taichung “burst with joy” in November and December.

Now in its ninth year, the Taichung Xinshè Flower Sea Festival still boasts an expansive flower sea composed of over 30 hectares of lavender, salvia, cosmos, and other blooms. The event also includes four exhibition zones: the 2013 Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival, the Agricultural Specialty Products Marketing Area, the Famous Stalls & Local Specialties Marketing Area, and the Xinshè District Agricultural Specialties & Food Area. These allow visitors to enjoy the festivities while learning more about Taichung’s local specialties and delicacies.

The Xinshè Flower Sea Festival attracts over a million visitors each year and has become one of Taiwan’s most prominent and well-known flower-themed leisure events.
