Beautiful flight attendant-turned-writer Lin Yaruo dies in solo cycling accident; dark bicycle and clothing main factors

Lin Yaruo, a former China Airlines flight attendant and popular writer who loved cycling trips, tragically died in a car accident on the 27th while undertaking her "A Girl's Australian Desert Cycling Journey" in Australia. She passed away at just 31 years old. It is understood that the accident occurred because she was cycling at night wearing dark clothing, making her difficult for the bus driver to see due to the darkness.

Staff from the Australian Office of the ROC confirmed that Lin Yaruo was struck by a tour bus at around 9 p.m. on the 27th while cycling in Alice Springs. At the time, she was wearing dark cycling gear and riding a black bicycle. It is believed that a black luggage bag on the back of her bike may have obscured her reflector during the ride, causing the tour bus to hit her in the poor visibility of night, leading to her tragic death abroad.

Born in 1982, Lin Yaruo worked as a flight attendant for China Airlines for seven years before becoming a writer. She gained immense popularity for her books, including the "Free India Travel E-book." She frequently appeared on TV shows as a guest, sharing travel experiences in India and other places. Topics she excelled in discussing included flying, writing, beauty, financial management, food, and flight attendant interviews. She was nicknamed the "doll-voiced flight attendant poet."

She loved cycling trips, and before setting off on her Australian desert ride, she had posted on her Facebook expressing fears of something unfortunate happening. She wrote on her Facebook, "If I die unexpectedly this time while cycling alone through the Australian desert—like being eaten by desert animals at night, bitten by a poisonous spider, getting hit by a car, or dying of thirst—then at least everyone can still see this precious photo I took for a 2009 FHM magazine shoot." That joking remark now seems especially heartbreaking.
