The ‘Stunning Guandu: Flowers Blossom on New Earth 2017 Guandu Flower Sea Festival’ has attracted many visitors for photo ops since its launch this year, becoming a popular IG spot. In addition to the ongoing second phase of angel flowers still in bloom, about 70% of the yellow cosmos and sunflowers outside the angel flower base have also blossomed. The vibrant orange-yellow cosmos paired with the soft purple angel flowers create a colorful spectacle against the green backdrop.

The sunflower field at this year’s Guandu Flower Sea features a dwarf, double-flowered variety, offering a completely different feel compared to the usual tall-stemmed, large-bloomed sunflowers. Combined with yellow cosmos and angel flowers spread across various slopes and flat areas of the park, the vast stretches of bright orange-yellow blooms set against the green fields and blue sky make for an especially pleasing sight. The entire flower sea is expected to be at its best viewing period until December 20.

In addition, due to recent unstable weather, the flower sea area has seen a surge in photography enthusiasts. The Taipei City Government’s Public Works Department, Bureau of Parks and Street Lights, reminds the public that while everyone is welcome to enjoy the flowers, take photos, and post on social media, please be mindful of the flowers around you and avoid walking on non-paved straw pathways for photos to prevent slipping or damaging the growing sunflowers and cosmos.
