This year’s floral carpet festival runs for one month and features three large themed floral displays: “Magic Castle,” “The Earth Is My Clothing,” and “Mountain Cherry Blossom Carpet.” Among them, the giant 5-story green sculpture of the Magic Castle is the most eye-catching, alongside a cute 6-meter-tall white rabbit. Meanwhile, Taichung’s city flower, the mountain cherry blossom, intertwined with the city bird, the Taiwan yuhina, forms a massive and heartwarming Mountain Cherry Blossom Carpet.

The Taichung City Tourism Bureau stated that the main exhibition area of the floral carpet festival is located at the second farm of the Council of Agriculture’s Seed Improvement and Propagation Station in Xinshe. The entire floral area spans 50 hectares, with the festival site covering 2 hectares, and the surrounding flower viewing areas extending over 40 hectares—a vast expanse. Aside from admiring the flowers, visitors can also explore the leisure agriculture pavilion planned by the city government and sample local Taichung specialties at the vendor stalls, enjoying food, shopping, and fun all in one go.

The Tourism Bureau noted that last year the event attracted over 1.83 million visitors, and this year the goal is 2 million.
