The 2013 Taiwan Cycling Festival in Hualien, themed “Light Travel, New Cycling Trails – Green Journeys on Two Wheels,” covers three major areas: Matai’an, Ruisui, and Danongdafu Plain Forest Park. Starting today, three cycling routes are launched:Indigenous Eco-Tour, Family Farm Tour, and Forest Park Cycling.three major routes.
The Indigenous Eco-Tour allows cyclists to leisurely explore Matai’an Wetlands and learn about the traditional life of the Amis people; the Family Farm Tour takes you to Ruisui Ranch, where you can enjoy the light scent of fresh milk in the air while tasting the ranch’s signature freshly squeezed milk; Danongdafu Plain Forest Park features plain afforestation landscapes. As you cycle through, the scenery where mountains meet plains not only refreshes the mind but also lets you rediscover the charm of Mother Earth.
Su I-Shun, Director of the Hualien County Government Tourism Bureau, stated that this event not only showcases Hualien’s beautiful mountains and waters to the public but also aims to become a new paradise for cycling enthusiasts. The “Taiwan Cycling Festival” has also partnered with 35 local hotels and renowned businesses in Hualien to launch the “Low-Carbon Green Travel – New Cycling Trails” campaign. Present your cycling map with a commemorative stamp and make purchases at event locations to enjoy special discounts.
