Queensland Coast Wildlife Tour – Witness Sea Turtles Passing on the Torch

From November to March each year, alongQueensland’s coastline,you can spot sea turtles. From Cape York in the north to Bundaberg in the south, as well as southern Great Barrier Reef islands such as Lady Elliot Island, Heron Island, Wilson Island, and Lady Musgrave Island, there’s a chance to see various species of sea turtles, including hawksbill turtles, green turtles, leatherback turtles, and flatback turtles, coming ashore to lay their eggs. Imagine witnessing these creatures, some over 200 years old, nesting and incubating their eggs with your own eyes—that’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Sea turtle mothers come ashore to lay their eggs between November and January, while hatchlings emerge between January and March. Visitors hoping to see the adorable first steps of baby turtles should head to Mon Repos, a hotspot for turtle encounters.
