"Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above" not only moved Taiwanese people but also left foreigners in awe. In the footage, three foreign girls share their thoughts on the film in different languages. "I thought this was going to be a movie like something on the National Geographic Channel, just showing us the beautiful scenery of Taiwan, but after watching it, I was shocked — it changes your perspective on the planet." "I initially thought this was a film for Taiwanese people, but it’s actually suitable for people all over the world."
 
Jiang Qiyun, producer of the studio "Don’t Be Silly," explained that he wanted to view "Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above" through the eyes of foreigners "because when people travel, they mostly see the most beautiful aspects of a place." Aside from wanting to introduce Taiwan to foreigners, Jiang also aimed to break that idealized perception formed during travel. What started as simply inviting foreign friends to watch a movie unexpectedly turned into a deep discussion about the film’s content afterward. "The foreigners’ thoughts about Taiwan made me want to document them." And thus, this short, one-minute video was born.

After the video was released, some responded: "People from mainland China should also watch this film." Jiang Qiyun also frankly mentioned that during discussions, foreigners did bring up the point, "China’s industrial development is quite severe — I wonder what it would look like if it were filmed there?" However, for the Taiwanese filmmaker documenting the film, the coexistence of Taiwan’s beauty and disasters is the key message they want to convey to foreigners.
