Taiwan’s only cat bus has made its debut in Dingxi, Huwei, Yunlin, Up！ Following the creation of a picture book park themed around “Cats on the Roof,” Dingxi has now introduced a cat bus, with its front designed in the cute shape of a cat. In the future, it is planned to be used as a tourist shuttle bus to take visitors on tours around Dingxi.

The cat bus was created by renovating an old iron ox cart that was previously used in agriculture. In addition to being currently open for photo opportunities, it will also serve as a tourist bus in the future, while efforts are underway to register the cat bus as a trademark. The previously developed “Cats on the Roof” picture book park significantly boosted the visibility of Dingxi, attracting many tourists to visit and “see the cats.” With the addition of this new cat bus, Dingxi has earned the nickname “Cat Community.”

The “Cats on the Roof” picture book park recently became an internet sensation. Based on the picture book “Cats on the Roof” by author Su Shengjie, and additionally created by painter Tian, who was working locally at the time and turned the community’s weathered brick walls into canvases painted with numerous cat-themed artworks, this art park now features the newly unveiled cat bus, which is also a creation by the same painter Tian.
