Instead of imitating the inflatable version of the yellow duck, Taiwanese businesses have come up with a new idea this time — assembling a “semi-three-dimensional” yellow duck made of 100,000 wind turbines in the suburbs of Keelung. When the wind blows across the green turf and through the blades of the yellow turbines, the entire hillside of turbines spins in unison, giving the illusion of a shimmering yellow duck flannel blanket lying on the ground, resembling a scene from abroad.

To welcome the arrival of the yellow duck in Keelung on December 21, the Yongheng Cultural and Creative Park in the suburbs of Keelung has unveiled a yellow duck made of 100,000 wind turbines, measuring 80 meters in both length and width, lying on the green grass and spinning. The sight has left many people marveling that it looks like being abroad. This wind turbine yellow duck has also successfully attracted a large crowd of “duck viewers.” According to business estimates, since the launch of the turbine duck, hundreds of visitors have come here to see the duck every day.

These 100,000 turbines, besides being individually categorized in yellow, orange, black, and white colors to form the facial features of the duck, also feature wishes written by the public when the turbines were implanted into the grass. When the wind blows, the spinning yellow duck turbines on the hillside look like a field of yellow cosmos dancing on the green turf, complemented by the distant mountain silhouettes, creating a romantic illusion akin to flower viewing abroad.
