China Airlines launches its first flight from Taichung to Osaka today; enjoy special airfare deals before December 22

China Airlines has launched its first flight from Taichung to Osaka today. To celebrate the occasion, the airline is offering a range of promotions for flights departing before December 22. The inaugural flight will also feature special Japanese in-flight meals such as Japanese-style Kyoto grilled fish rice and teriyaki chicken leg rice. Currently, there is one flight per day, five days a week, with plans to increase to daily flights depending on demand.

There are numerous promotional deals to celebrate the inaugural flight, such as special airfare prices for groups of two or more departing before December 22, at NT$10,000 (before tax) per person, a 3-day-2-night Taichung–Osaka free and easy package starting from NT$16,700 (before tax) per person, and group 5-day-4-night packages starting from NT$19,800 (including tax) per person. Group discounts are available until the end of December.

Based in Taichung, China Airlines, following the launch of the Taichung–Ryukyu route in 2013, has now also opened the Taichung–Osaka route, becoming the only airline offering direct flights from Taichung to Osaka. Currently, there is one flight per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between Taichung and Osaka. The airline also collaborates with the tourism industry to offer Kansai travel packages, with Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Nara as the main destinations.

China Airlines was established in 1991 as a subsidiary of China Airlines (the main carrier). It was initially jointly funded by China Airlines and the Hsinchuang Group, and was named “China Airlines” (Mandarin: Huáxìn). It originally focused on cargo routes but now primarily operates domestic, cross-strait, and short-haul international routes.
