A Dreamlike Glowing Christmas Chapel Made from 5,000 Bottle Caps

This dreamy snow-white chapel is actually made from 5,000 plastic bottles. To create a unique Christmas atmosphere, the Tainan Taiwan Sugar Evergreen Hotel recycled over 5,000 plastic bottles to build an “eco-friendly Christmas chapel,” which was placed in the hotel lobby. Most notably, the management also held a “lighting ceremony,” where the chapel shone even more brilliantly under flickering LED lights, attracting many visitors to stop and take photos.

The management stated that the hotel usually accommodates a large number of diners, so it also recycles a significant amount of tableware. This year, they specially collected over 5,200 recycled plastic bottles and used green, eco-friendly DIY as the theme for the Christmas decorations in the lobby. The idea and creation were entirely developed by the hotel staff themselves, taking 250 hours to complete an eco-friendly Christmas chapel that stands 2.5 meters high, 2.8 meters wide, and 3 meters long on the sides.

In addition to being decorated with conventional Christmas ornaments, the snow-white chapel also features creative touches by the staff, who placed LED lights inside the structure. These, along with the star-shaped bases originally found on the bottoms of the bottles, create a dazzling radiating star pattern under the light projection. The management noted that since 2011, they have drawn inspiration from environmentalism to create a 2-meter-tall eco-friendly Christmas tree and reindeer, but this year’s eco chapel is the most ambitious project to date.
