Riverside Park Taipei 4 Bike hits the road – Experience the joy of cycling together

Riverside Park is a favorite among cycling enthusiasts. The Taipei City Water Resources Department announced that starting today, specific areas of Dajia Riverside Park will allow the use of tricycles and larger pedal vehicles. They have also introduced a Taipei 4 Bike rental service that accommodates up to four people. One model, the “Four-Seater Rickshaw,” lets riders face each other, offering a cozy, “you-and-me” cycling experience.

The water resources department noted that the riverside bicycle paths are popular routes among cyclists. To allow seniors and children to also enjoy biking, two types of Taipei 4 Bike four-wheeled cycles are now available for rent at Dajia Riverside Park. These include the Four-Seater Rickshaw, where two pairs can ride face to face, and a four-wheeler with two rows, one in front and one in back. The rental fee is NT$250 for the first hour and NT$200 for each additional hour.

Taipei 4 Bike operating hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends from April to November; from December to March of the following year, hours are 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekends. The water resources department stated that bikes can be rented at the rental station next to Gate 8 of Dajia Riverside Park, with the trial period ending on October 13, 2015.

Four-wheeled bike riding is limited to within the riverside park, including on bike paths and lawns, and must follow designated routes. The water resources department said that group rentals of 10 or more bikes are available at NT$200 for the first hour and NT$150 for each subsequent hour, with applications required seven days in advance.
